I GOT THE JOB!!!!

So I went in for my interview at 4 pm with the Office of IT; who are the people on campus that handle every computer problem imaginable. I interviewed for the position as the Office of IT Agent which means that I answer phone calls and talk to professors who are having problems with their technological devices. This job starts at 8.50 hr and raises 50 cents each semester based on performance.

Well my interview went like this:

I walked in and sat across the room from Jared and Megan; they are the two who will be over me in the job I'm taking. Well first off they asked me to describe myself; so I told them everything they needed to know. I basically gave them the readers digest version of what makes me, well me. Then they asked me a whole bunch of random questions about my computer now and my experience with other computers. I answered these honestly, because I do know a lot about computers. So then they just kept popping random questions about computers. Well... they got to one about having me describe the process of connecting to a wireless connection to someone who had never connected before. I did this, and then he asked me if I have a photographic memory. I do when it comes to computers, so I said yes. They enjoyed that fact about me.
Then he asked me a strictly creative question about how I would go about seeing the number of quarters it would take to stack up as tall as the Empire State Building. This was really interesting because this is what I said: I would fly a helicopter over the top of the building and drop a bundle of weighted string until it hit exactly the bottom. Then I would clip the string at the exact top of the steeple. Next, I would measure the width of a quarter, and divide that width into the length of the string which measured the entire distance of the Empire State Building. The number of times that width divided in would be equal to the number of quarters it would take.

He told me that was the most creative answer he has ever gotten before. I was thrilled. He fussed about my creativity. They asked me a few more questions, and asked me to step outside while they chatted for a few moments, after which they would call me back inside.

So I went outside and started talking to Britni, the secretary at the front desk. Not a minute later, Jared came out and asked me to come back inside.

He then asked me how badly I wanted this job. I said to imagine a dog with a bone dangling in his face... he wants the bone but he has been trained to wait until alloted a time to eat it. So replace that bone with a steak, and imagine Im a dog that has been starved for 3 weeks. My mouth is watering, but all I can do is wait for the steak to be dropped to me.

Then he told me that my creativity was enthralling. He enjoyed my wonderful magnetic personality. He did start to say that i was wrong in the fact that the customer isnt always right; especially with our position as teaching the person on the phone how to work things. So at that moment, I thought he was going to decline me the position. Yet... he abruptly offered me the job. And of course I accepted. This is like the best day ever!!! I am so excited.

I got a job by being myself, so this means that I will absolutely love it. And Im sure I will. :)
